Executive Chef Gerry Rozelle, formerly of the famed Typhoon Restaurant, creates an innovative menu that is filled with both familiar and unfamiliar ingredients, demonstrating that kosher cuisine can not only be delicious and creative, but a cuisine that anyone can enjoy. Park East Grill is the brainchild of Michael Weltz, son of one of the owners of Park East Kosher Butchers and Fine Foods, New York's premier source for prepared kosher delicacies and quality kosher meats. Serving beyond the boundaries of merely Manhattan, Park East Butchers caters to celebrities and has even delivered to the White House when kosher dignitaries are in town. Seating seventy and available for parties and corporate functions, they offer a modern, yet intimate dining setting. Delectable appetizers include Wild Mushroom blintzes, ("a great dish" according to the Daily News) and Chicken Dumpling Soup with Vegetables, a new take on the traditional Jewish soup many diners grew up on. For the more adventurous, Chef Rozelle includes the chickpea pancakes, cucumber rhaita and chili oil, a small taste of India.
